Things started well for Sunderland last season, Darren Bent was playing like a man possessed at times and they rose as high as 6th in the league and they were midtable by Christmas. It didn’t last and a poor run of form saw them slip down the table to finish third, the consequence of surrendering leads at half time on many occasions. Hopefully they will soon have the services of their no. 1 , Craig Gordon, after a long injury layoff. They are also looking to retain John Mensah at the back and have signed Fraizer Campbell to a new contract. The season looks to be a bright one for the Stadium of Light.
